Speed Test

TrackBack Address.

The following speed test will provide you with a better idea of your Internet connection’s performance. Based on the throughput stated you can then estimate how long a particular upload or download may take. Just bear in mind that the numbers listed are in kilobit or megabit per second. To arrive at the approximate number of kilobyte or megabyte per second, divide the respective figure by 10 (this helps to account for some protocol overhead in addition to the 8 bit per byte).

While the above is quite helpful in obtaining an initial idea of your connection’s performance, it lacks statistical functions.

To enjoy the full benefits of Speedtest.net, visit their main site and run the test from their. In that case you will build a history of past tests performed from your IP address (available under “Your Results”) which may help down the line when discussing performance issues with your Internet Service Provider (ISP).

If you would like help with interpreting the test results or are interested in optimizing the performance of your computer system and its network connection, contact us today.
