- Russian (русский язык, russkiy yazyk) is a Slavic language that belongs to the family of Indo-European languages and uses the Cyrillic script. It is used mostly in Russia, Belarus, Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, Tajikistan and Kyrgyzstan. It is also widely spoken language in Ukraine, Moldova, Latvia, Turkmenistan, Estonia and Lithuania.
